In Development

Observations January 31, 2012 11:30 am

Are you as excited as I am about the recent Arrested Development announcement, confirmed by writer/producer Dean Lorey:

We’re really doing this thing.  Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and I are off writing the new season of ARRESTED to premiere on Netflix in 2013.  The original cast is back. There are offices and parking spaces.  We’re shooting this year.  I wish I could give more specifics but, for the moment, even the schedule is being kept under wraps.  But it’s happening and it’s great to be back with my pals from the show.  More later as it becomes okay to release further details…(source)

The ENTIRE original cast is back.  The same writers are back.  And it’s back on TV in 2013.

7 years after the show was canceled and went off air, Arrested Development will finally be coming back.

Hallelujah.

But did you notice where it’s coming back?

Netflix.

Not back on FOX or cable or even premium cable, but on Netflix.

If that doesn’t point to the changing structure of the TV landscape, I don’t know what does.
